I trawled back to read this ... its been that kind of personal week even without the ongoing horror in the ME ... the return of total war and the erasure of civilian populations takes me back to my early childhood ... memories and stories from 1943 onward.
I have this week found myself again in 'conversation' with a group of writers very much interested in 'soul food'. For what its worth, today I wrote my tentative thoughts on the persistence of a kind of 'ur' humanity.
Veronica Bond (etymology a strong point) has been kind enough to reply. I would like to recommend your writing, especially this your soul food and poem.
